Abraham Verhoeven (1575-1652) was licensed as a printer in Antwerp in 1605 and specialized in prints, broadsides and pamphlets relating to current affairs. He was printer and publisher of the newspapers entitled Nieuwe Tijdinghen (1620-1629), Wekelijcke Tijdinghen (1629-1631), and Courante (1632-1634). His editorial perspective was pro-Catholic and pro-Habsburg. He was declared bankrupt in 1635.
